EuroBonus is the SAS loyalty program. Points come from flying SAS and SkyTeam partners, from selected credit cards, and from everyday spend if you hold the right product. The useful first question is not “how do I maximize every krona?” It is “what trip is actually bookable with the balance I can build this year?”

Pick a first trip before you chase bonuses

Open the EuroBonus calculator and price one region in Economy and Business. A Europe hop and a North America Business seat are different hobbies. If the Business number looks unreachable, start with a shorter award or plan a mixed cabin later.

Then open SAS Longhaul Awards. That page shows cached SAS-operated space to North America, Asia and the Middle East. If you never see your route there, an alert still helps — partner metal often hides off the SAS long-haul map.

Earn without turning your life into a points game

• Put regular travel on a card that credits EuroBonus or transferable Membership Rewards you can move later.
• Fly the airline you already use. Status is a side effect, not the homework.
• Ignore expired signup banners. Offers change; the award chart and seat search do not wait for a campaign.
