When SAS and SkyTeam release award seats

There is no reliable public timetable for EuroBonus partner space. Treat “release day” as a rumour and watch the inventory instead.

Older Star Alliance habits trained people to sit on a calendar: plus-355 days, plus-331, a Tuesday dump. SkyTeam partners are less polite. A few still open a batch far ahead. Many release when yield management feels like it — sometimes months out, sometimes 72 hours before pushback.

What that means in practice

• A Japan Business seat in October can appear in February and vanish in March.
• The same flight can show two seats on the outbound and zero on the return for weeks.
• SAS-operated long-haul and partner metal do not move in lockstep. Watch both.

SAS Longhaul Awards is the fast public scan for SAS-operated widebodies. It is a cache, not a live SAS click, which is the point: you see dates that already had space without logging in.

Build a watch, not a ritual
