Plan a EuroBonus mileage run

A mileage run is a flight you take because the qualifying points matter more than the destination. It is a tool, not a personality.

EuroBonus status (Silver, Gold, Diamond) is earned on qualifying points / tiers, not on the same pot you spend on awards. A well-chosen SAS or partner cash ticket in the right cabin can close a gap before the qualification year ends. A badly chosen run just buys you a Tuesday in a hub hotel.

Do the arithmetic first

Know the gap to the next tier. Price cash fares in Business or Premium on routes that credit well. Compare that spend to simply missing the tier. If the run costs more than the lounge access is worth to you, skip it.

Seasonal promotions (double tier on selected cabins, calendar campaigns) change the math. Those offers expire. Do not run last Christmas’s leaked calendar in August.

Awards are usually the opposite hobby

Spending EuroBonus points on a “run” is rarely efficient. Use points for a trip you want. Use cash for status. Watch award space on Longhaul and price a real holiday in the calculator so the run does not eat the trip.

If you want help building a qualifying itinerary, that is an Assist / cash-ticket job, not the Pro test. For award watching, start the 24-hour test. Pro overview.

Try Primefly Pro for 24 hours

Get Pro starts a cardless 24-hour test. Set alerts, open Explore and browse Longhaul. Assist requests are not included in the test.

Primefly is an independent IATA agency. Award space, point levels and taxes are set by SAS and its partners and can change.
